根据以下内容回答题:

One of the qualities that most people admire in others is the wiHingness to admit one’s mis-takes.It is extremely hard sometimes to say a simple thing like“1 was wrong about that”,and it is even harder to say,“l was wron9,and you were right about that.”I had an experience recently with someone admitting to me that he had made a mistake fifteen years a90.He told me he had been the manager of a certain grocery store in the neighborhood where I grew up,and he asked me if I remembered the egg cartons. Then he related an incident and I began to remember vaguely the incident he was describing. I was about eight years old at the time, and I had gone into the store with my mother to do the weekly grocery shoppin9.

On that particular day,I must have found me way to the dairy food department where the incident took place. There must have been a special sale on eggs that day because there was an impressive dis-play of eggs in dozen and half-dozen cartons. The cartons were stacked three or four feet high.I must have stopped in front of a display to admire the stacks.Just then a woman came by pushing her grocery cart and knocked off the stacks of cartons. For some reason,I decided it was up to me to put the display back together,so 1 went to work. The manager heard the"noise and came pushing over to see what had happened. When he appeared.1 was on my knees inspecting, some of the cartons to see if any of the eggs were broken, but to him it looked as though I was the culprit. He severely reprimanded me and wanted me to pay for any broken eggs.I protested my innocence and tried to explain, but it did no good.Even though I quickly forgot the incident, apparently the manager did not.

听力原文:Man: Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen.

Thank you for attending this homecoming lecture. Let me say that it is not really a lecture but an informal discussion of my insights into the qualities of leadership.

Although a good leader needs to have many qualities, in my opinion there are 10 qualities, which are the most important.

The most important quality of a leader is to lead. This may sound simple but in reality many people in leadership positions fail to lead.

The world is constantly changing and any business needs to move with the times or risk losing ground. To lead means to make difficult decisions. These decisions include setting your own agenda for the organisation such as determining its core values and setting its strategic direction. Other decisions also include making tough decisions on professional, business and personnel matters.

No leader makes the right decision every time but a good leader is not afraid to make decisions because he is not afraid to reverse his decision and take remedial action where necessary. A bad leader is one who shies away from making decisions and simply wait for things to happen.

Secondly, a leader is expected to set the strategy for the organisation. How does a good leader choose the right strategy for his organisation? A good leader must develop a thorough analysis of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of the organisation. He must evaluate carefully the pros and cons of each alternative strategy. He should also consider the short-term as well as the long-term impact of each option. What I cannot over-emphasise is that a leader must adopt a strategy for his organisation He cannot simply copy others.

Thirdly, a key attribute of a good leader is to be able to communicate internally and externally. He must maintain a high level of visibility. Internally, the leader must communicate his strategy and vision to every member of the firm. Externally, the leader is the face of the organisation and must project a positive image for the organisation. He should act as the spokesman on important issues for the organisation.

Looking back on my childhood, I am convinced that naturalists are born and not made. Altho
ugh we were brought up in the same way, my brothers and sisters soon abandoned their pressed(紧抱的) flowers and insects. Unlike them, I had no ear for music and languages, I was not an early reader and I could not do mental arithmetic.

Before World War I we spent our summer holidays in Hungary. I have only the dim memory of the house we lived in, of my room and my toys. (76)Nor do I recall clearly the large family of grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins who gathered next door. But I do have a crystal-clear memory of dogs, the farm animals, the local birds and above all, the insects.

I am a naturalist, not a scientist. I have a strong love of the natural world, and my enthusiasm has led me into varied investigations. I love discussing my favorite topics and enjoy burning the midnight oil, reading about other people's observations and discoveries. Then something happens that brings these observations together in my conscious mind. Suddenly you fancy you see the answer to the riddle(谜), because it all seems to fit together. This has resulted in my publishing 300 papers and books, which some might honor with the title of scientific research.

But curiosity, a keen eye, a good memory and enjoyment of the animal and plant world do not make a scientist; one of the outstanding and essential qualities required is self-discipline, a quality I lack. A scientist can be made. A naturalist is born. If you can combine the two, you get the best of born worlds.

According to the author, a born naturalist should first of all be______.

A.full of enthusiasm

B.self-disciplined

C.full of ambition

D.knowledgeable
