判断正误:Reporting sales figures
After a slow start at the beginning of the year when sales started out at $ 9 million and rose to $ 10 million for the month of January, there was a slight increase in February when sales went up to $ 14. 5m. Then in March we had a dramatic increase when sates shot up to a staggering $ 34m. This was after the big Trade Fair in Hong Kong, where we managed to promote our new products and capturé the SE Asin market: The-increase continued in April when sales peaked at $ 38. 5m. There was slight fall for the month of May, which was only to be expected after the rush of interest after Hong Kong, and figures hit the $ 30m. mark. They seem to stabilise there, as the June figures were much the same at $ 31. 4m. We have every to expect them to continue at this rate for the next few munths, but our target for the end of the year is to chase the $ 40m+ mark with a very aggressive marketing policy over the summer and the autumn.

M: That' s great. Did you get your commission check yet?
W: Not yet. It comes at the end of the month. I am going to make more money, but more is deducted in taxes, too. So, it's not as much of an increase as you might expect.

听力原文: Good morning. Let me go ahead with our presentation on the company's sales records for the past year. As you see here from this chart, last year's sales figures have been fairly high, except for August, September, and October. This indicates that there is a great need for us to come up with a new fall product line that satisfies consumers to offset the loss we encountered last year. Our view is that, unlike other seasons, fall lacks any unique characteristics in terms of our clothing line.
We are currently receiving ideas from every department on new items for this fall, but regrettably, none of them have proved to be satisfactory. However, we still recommend that people contribute any views to us, and anyone whose idea is chosen will be rewarded with a bonus. We sense that other companies are experiencing the same kind of problem we have, and I personally think we have to take advantage of this opportunity to dominate the market.
How will the company overcome the decline in sales?
A.Develop new items to sell.
B.Advertise the items more aggressively.
C.Downsize the company.
D.Use ideas from consumers.
W: That's unfortunate. His performance as a marketing department chief has been excellent. I wish he would stay with our company longer.
M: Yes, I feel the same way. I relied on him for many things. He has contributed a lot to our sales because of his excellent marketing strategies and hard work. We should throw a farewell party for him.
W: That sounds good. First, I'll notify the human resources manager and ask him to find someone to replace him as early as possible.
What are they discussing?
A.Marketing strategies
B.Performance of the marketing department
C.A personnel change
D.Sales figures
