Why do women earn less than men do? Are the differences explained by the fact that women are looked down upon? If so, the government has to intervene (干预), to force the employers to pay equal wages to equal jobs. However, there is no agreement among economists about the causes of the gap. One view argues that women on the average have chosen low-paid jobs in which workers enjoy the freedom of entering and leaving the labor force, which reduces their years of experience relative to men. Other people say the gap can also be explained by the difference in educational background.
Much of the gap, however, has not been fully explained. It might be the result of some prejudice (偏见) against women. It is this part that has produced calls for government action. What would happen if the government did intervene to increase the wages paid to women? One possibility is that in comes for women as a group might actually decline (下降). An increase in wage decreases the quantity of labor imput demanded, resulting in decreased employment as the rate of hiring new workers declines The result will be a surplus (过剩) of labor. Those who can find jobs might be better off while those who had jobs might find themselves out of work.
The difference in labor incomes is most obvious between ______.

7. Jerusalem Jerusalem is located at the top of Judea mountains, 790 meters above sea level. It is one of the centers of ancient religious activities. According to their religious legends, Judaism, Christianity and Islam all worship the city. The city circle covers an area of about 1 square kilometer and is divided into four districts. East Jerusalem is a Muslim area, including the famous temple area. The holy places in the temple area include the rock top of Mount Morey and the shrine(圣殿) on the rock top, the Aksa mosque(清真寺) and the wailing wall(哭墙). In the northwest, there is a Christian district with a Christian Church. The southwest part is Armenian(亚美尼亚) region. In the south is the Jewish diocese(教区). Mount Zion in the southwest of the city is another important holy place for Judaism. In the eastern part of the city, there are holy places of Christianity and Judaism. Jerusalem was run by the United Nations after the Second World War. From 1948 to 1949, Israel occupied the west of Jerusalem and established a new urban area, while Jordan occupied the east of the old area. After the third Middle East war in 1967, Israel occupied the whole Jerusalem and declared it the capital of Israel in 1980. On November 15, 1988, the state of Palestine announced its capital here. The urban area is 109 square kilometers, most of which are to the west of the city circle. Jerusalem's main industries include diamond grinding, furniture manufacturing, pharmaceutical, chemical manufacturing, shoemaking, pencil, textile and clothing, etc. Tourism is booming (including pilgrimage and religious activities). In the UN resolution, Jerusalem was divided into Palestine, so Israel's capital was Tel Aviv when it was founded. After the first Middle East War, Israel occupied West Jerusalem. After the third Middle East War, Israel occupied East Jerusalem. In 1948, Jerusalem became an international city. At the beginning of the founding of Israel, most of the government agencies were in Tel Aviv, but Jerusalem became the capital of Israel since 1950, after which the presidential palace, most of the government agencies, the Supreme Court and the Parliament were located in the city. In 1980, Israel's parliament legislated that Jerusalem is the "eternal and indivisible capital" of the country. The Palestinian autonomous government also announced that Jerusalem will be the capital of the future Palestinian state. In the 21st century, Jerusalem remains the center of the Palestinian Israeli conflict. 13. Which three religions take Jerusalem as holy city?
