听力原文: There is a strange area in the Atlantic Ocean called the Bermuda Triangle. People have been fascinated by the Bermuda Triangle for years, because of the mysterious disappearance of many ships and planes in the area. There is hardly any agreement about the cause of these disappearance. In fact, it is difficult to find any agreement about the boundaries of the area. Whereas most people argue that the triangle's northern most point is Bermuda, its western most point is Florida, and its eastern point is the coast of Africa, a few researchers prefer the northern point to be in the Boston area.

听力原文: Recently a five-year study was conducted by the Center for Childhood Development in Los Angeles, California, regarding the way babies react to different types of people. The findings of study suggest that infant children seem to be more comfortable around other babies than they are with strange adults.
The results confirm the ideas of Dr. Richard Perel-man, who has written many books about raising children. Dr. Perelman supports the findings of the study and adds that it is a sounder idea to keep children with other children, as in a day care center, than it is to have children cared for by a baby-sitter.
According to the results of the study, infants benefit from being in the company of other babies on a daily basis. Whereas some babies seem to show fear of strange adults, they are likely to reach out to try to touch an unfamiliar baby. The study even suggests that children as young as one year old can form. friendships.
Two of the children in the study were especially close. It was reported that if the children were separated for any reason they would start to cry. The only way to satisfy them was to allow them to be together. If the findings are true it may lead to an increase in the use of family-oriented day care centers where children can spend more time with each other and less time with adults.
Questions 26 to 28 are based on the passage you have just heard.
26. According to the study, when do babies feel the most comfortable?
27. How do babies react to unfamiliar babies?
28. What is the best way to care for babies?
(27)
A.When they are with a baby-sitter.
B.When they are with another baby.
C.When they are with a strange adult.
D.When they are with an elderly person.

听力原文: Emily Dickinson is one of the greatest American poets. She was born in a typical New England village in Massachusetts on December 10, 1830. She was the second child of the family. She died in the same house fifty-six years later. During her life time she never left her native land. She left her home state only once. She left her village very few times. And afire 1872 she rarely left her house and yard. In the last years of her life she retreated to a smaller circle of family and friends. In those later years she dressed in white, avoided strangers, and communicated chiefly through notes and poems even with intimates. The doctor who attended her illness was allowed to "examine" her m another room, seeing her walk by an opened door. She was thought of as a "strange" figure in her home village. When she died on May 15, 1886, she was unknown to the rest of the world. Only after seven of her poems had appeared in print did she become noticed.
But to think Emily Dickinson only as a strange figure is a serious mistake. She lived simply and deliberately. She faced the essential facts of life. According to Henry James, a famous American novelist, she was one of those on whom nothing was lost. Only by thus living could Dickinson manage both to fulfill her obligations as a daughter, a sister, and a housekeeper and to write on the average one poem a day.
She read only a few books but knew them deeply. Her poems are simple but remarkably rich. Not until 1950s was she recognized as one of the greatest American poets.

听力原文: Hidden passengers traveling in ships, trains, or even cars can be a terrible nuisance--especially when they are insects. In this respect, there is a great difference between human beings and insects. The former make every possible effort to avoid discovery, while the latter quickly draw attention to themselves.
We can only sympathize with the unfortunate man who had to stop his car soon after setting out from a country village to drive to London. Hearing a strange noise from the back of the car, he naturally got but to have a look. He examined the wheels carefully but as he found nothing wrong, he continued his way. The noise began almost immediately and now it was louder than ever. Quickly turning his head, the man saw what appeared to be a great black cloud following the car. When he stopped at a village further on, he was told that a queen bee must be hidden in his car as there were thousands of bees nearby.
On learning this, the man realized that the only way to escape would be to drive away as quickly as possible. After an hour's hard driving, he arrived in London where he parked his car outside a hotel and went in to have a drink. It was not long before a customer who had seen him arrived and hurried in to inform. him that his car was covered with bees. The poor motorist telephoned the police and explained what had happened. The police decided that the best way to deal with the situation would be to call a bee-keeper. In a short time, the bee-keeper arrived. He found the unwelcome passenger hidden near the wheels at the back of the ear. Very grateful to the motorist for his unexpected gift, the keeper took the queen and her thousands of followers home in a large box. Equally grateful, the motorist drove away in peace, at last free from the "black cloud" which had hung over his car.
