Ladies and gentlemen, I’d like to report on my recent investigation of the current situa
tion of China’s automobile market. Considering the fact that there is only one car for every 250 Chinese at present, the potential auto market is extremely attractive. China has cut its average tariff rate several times and promised to continue to cut its automobile import tariff. China has virtually opened its auto market to the outside world. China is seeking partners for its automobile industry, and we should walk up and take the opportunity.(英译汉)

听力原文:I cold-call a lot of customers, you know— just call up potential clients to try t
o make sales. Mainly when I cold-call somebody I try to set up an appointment— nobody's going to buy your product or service over the phone, you know? The key for me is to make sure I do some research beforehand, and try to add a personalized twist. Like I'll try to have some background on the company; ideally, I try to find any recent news they may have generated—that works really well as a conversation starter. If I can't find something on the company, I'll try to find something on the company's industry. A lot of times, I'll make them aware of an article they might be interested in. If they haven't seen the article, I offer to bring it by their office, and while I'm there, tell them about our services. At any rate, the cold-call gets my foot in the door, which is all I can really hope for.

What is the speaker mainly talking about?

A.Dealing with difficult customers

B.Maintaining good customer relations

C.Advertising new products or services

D.Calling potential customers to make sales

听力原文: Good afternoon. Today I want to say something about Alaska. One thing that concerns me most is the future of the Alaskan environment. About 25 years ago, before going on a wilderness research trip, I visited Anchorage, the largest city in Alaska. It was then a small city of 40,000 inhabitants surrounded by a quiet wilderness. When I made a recent trip to update my earlier work, I found amazing changes. Anchorage now has 180,000 people, more than four times as many as in 1980. There're skyscrapers, shopping centers and all the accompanying crowds and traffic jams. The forests and mountains are still nearby, but they seem diminished by the city's great size. The discovery of oil in 1968 on the north slope of Alaska caused many of these changes. The construction of the trans-Alaska oil pipeline brought increased wealth to the state. However, there have been too many people moving to Alaska in a very short period to work on the pipeline. There is not enough housing or transportation. I think Alaska must make important decisions soon. Alaskans need to decide how to develop their natural resources and mineral wealth without destroying the wilderness and harming the wildlife.

(27)

A.Wilderness research.

B.Housing condition in Alaska.

C.The Alaskan environment in the future.

D.Transportation of Alaska.
