听力原文:W: Right, well, in die studio this morning, for our interview spot is Peter Wilson. Peter works for Green Peace. So, Peter, welcome.

M: Thanks a lot.

W: Peter, perhaps you can tell us something about Green Peace and your job there.

M: Sure. We've been going for a few decades and we' re a non-violent, non-political organization. We're involved in anti-nuclear activity, conservation and protection of animals and protection and support of our ecosystem. I' m the action organizer and arrange any protests.

W: Great! Peter. What sort of protest would you organize?

M: Well, recently we've been involved in anti-nuclear campaigns. I personally arranged for the demonstration against radioactive waste dumping in the Atlantic Ocean. We've got a few small Green Peace boats that we harass the dumping ship with.

W: Hey? Hold on, Peter. I thought you said your organization was non-violent. What do you mean by harass?

M: Well, we circle round and round the ships and get in the way when they try to dump the drums of nuclear waste in the sea. We talk to the men and try to change, you know, yell at diem to stop. We generally make ourselves as much of a nuisance possible.

W: Well, people may think differently of your methods, but mere' s no doubt you' re doing a great job. Keep it up and good luck. And thanks for talking with us.

M: Thanks for having me.

听力原文:M: Good evening, madam. I know that you have been robbed.

W: Yes, I have.

M: When did this happen?

W: About two hours ago.

M: Why didn't you report it before?

W: I couldn't. I was bound and gagged.

M: Would you like to tell me what happened?

W: Yes. I was sitting in this room watching television when someone knocked at the door. Without thinking, I opened it.

M: That wasn't very wise, madam.

W: I know. I was expecting my husband, you see, and I thought it was him.

M: You should never open a door without looking to see who it is.

W: Yes, I know. I regret it very much.

M: What happened ?

W: Two men pushed me into the flat. One of them threatened me with a knife while the other bound and gagged me.

M: Did you get a good look at them?

W: I'm afraid not. They were both wearing stockings over their faces.

M: What did they take?

W: My wallet, which has $ 200 in it, my wristwatch, some of my jewelry from our bedroom, and a silver photo frame.

M: They don't seem to have done much damage to the flat.

W: No. They had just begun to search when the dogs next door began to bark. They ran off quickly leaving me bound and gagged. It was some time before my husband returned and released me. I phoned the police at once.

M: The policemen began searching the area as soon as we received your call. I can't promise you that we'll recover your property but we'll certainly do our best.

听力原文: American children's writer Judy Blume has won many awards. Her books have sold more than seventy-five million copies. They have been published in more than twenty languages. Now the National Book Foundation will honor her with its two thousand four Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters. Faith Lapidus has more about Judy Blume and her books.

Judy Blume is sixty-six years old. But book critics say this grandmother has never forgotten what it feels like to be a child. She writes mostly about the struggles of growing up. She published her first such book in nineteen sixty-nine.

Judy Blume says she writes about real life and real feelings. And she says children recognize themselves and their own problems in her books. These are problems like not having friends, or worrying about physical development, or being afraid to grow up. Some of the children in her books are trying to understand why their parents have separated. Others are not sure about their religious beliefs.

Not everyone praises Judy Blume, however. Some parents feel that children should not read about some of the subjects that she writes about. Her books have often been removed from libraries or placed in restricted areas as a result of challenges by parents. The American Library Association says five of her books are among the one hundred most frequently challenged books.

Not surprisingly, Judy Blume is active against censorship. She says people try to ban books because it satisfies their needs to feel in control of their children's lives. She says they think if children don't read about a subject, they won't know about it. She argues that children need to know about ideas different from those of their parents.

Judy Blume is the first writer of young-adult literature to receive the National Book Foundation Medal. This honor was established in nineteen eighty-eight. It will be given at the National Book's Awards ceremony in New York City in November.

Judy Blume writes mostly about ______.

A.adults

B.struggles in the work place

C.straggles for survival

D.struggles for growing up
