听力原文: Women's fashions tend to change more rapidly and radically than men's. In the early 1900s, all women wore their skirts down to the ankle. Today, skirt length varies from floor-length to ten inches above the knee. Women's shoes have also gone through all sorts of changes in the last ninety years. For example, boots for women were very common around the turn of the 20th century. Then, for years, they were not considered fashionable. Today they are back in style. a gain in all colors, lengths, and materials. In fact, today's women can wear all sorts of clothes, even slacks and shorts, on almost any occasion. While all of these changes were taking place in women's fashions, men's clothing remained pretty much the same until a couple of years ago. In fact, most men still wear the traditional suit though bright colors and varieties in cut are now more common.

听力原文: Farmers might think the idea of (26) growing food for fun sounds strange. But there are some people who do it all the time. They grow some vegetables because their natural color or shape is pleasing to see. They grow others because scientists have developed new colors or different sizes for traditional vegetables. One example is the bell pepper. Seed companies sell seeds for several different kinds of bell peppers. One pepper is a weak yellow color when it begins to grow. Then its color changes to white. As it grows, it changes color two more times--to orange, then red. If you are not interested in peppers that change colors as they grow, you can grow some that remain one color. You can try chocolate-colored peppers. Or purple. Or lavender ones. Each kind of pepper has its own special taste. (27) For the best possible taste, however, peppers should be left on the vine for two or three weeks after they appear ready. This gives them full flavor and greatly increases the vitamins they contain. Another unusual plant is known as the yard-long bean, or snake bean. It grows up to one meter in length. It is an important part of the food supply in areas of Asia. (28) American farmers like it because it is different, yet tastes very much like the green beans they traditionally grow. Each bean has from ten to twenty seeds. The outside can be eaten. Some of the very long beans are green outside but have black-and-whit6 or red seeds.
(27)
A.Because they are full of vitamin.
B.Because it is easy to grow them.
C.Because they can bring fun to people.
D.Because they are different from the traditional ones.

听力原文: Would the world really be so much better off if there were no dust? The answer is in some ways, yes, in some ways, no. What is dust anyway? It consists of particles of earth, or other solid matter, which are light enough to .be raised and carried by the wind. Where do these particles come from? They might come from dead plants and animal matter, from sea salt, from desert or volcano sand and from ashes. For the most part, dust is not a very desirable or beneficial thing. But in one way, it helps make the world more beautiful. The lovely colors of the dawn depend to a great extent on the amount of dust that is present in the air. Particles of dust in the upper air reflect the sun's rays. This makes its light visible on earth an hour or two after sunset. But different colors which make up the sun light are bent .at different angles as they are reflected by the dust and water steam particles. Sunsets are red, because these particles bent the red rays of the sun in such a way that they are the last rays to disappear from view. Another useful function of dust has to do with ram. The vapor water in the air would not become a liquid very readily, if it did not have the dust particles serving as centers for each drop of water. Therefore, clouds, mist, fog and rain are largely formed of an infinite number of moisture particles of dust.
