听力原文: Before we get to the student centre, I'd like to show you the Brummie hall, one of the live co education undergraduate of resident's halls at the university, just next to it is the Bmmmie dining-hall. Since there are only a few small kitchens in the dorms, most students buy meal contracts which are total in twenty meals per week to get cafeterias. It would be an exception of Sundays evenings in vacation breaks. Dining-halls like Brummie are open everyday for breakfast, lunch and dinner, students simply present their meal tickets at the door and go to the line helping themselves to eat much food they wanted. While dietitians work hard to offer students nutrition at well: balanced diet, many of our young men and women claimed that Brummie's food like most dorm food leaves much to be desired. However, there are certain times, especially around Thanksgiving and Christmas, when the dining-halls staff goes all out preparing seasonal specialties together with steak or sea-food. These dinners are always exceptional and well attended. But regardless of the supplies of cooking, Brummie is a good place to get together with friends and to meet new people. And this is the students centre which is coming up on our right.

听力原文:A: How do you and your housemates like the co - up? I' m thinking of joining it myself.
B: We like it quite a bit. We get some very fresh produce. And both staples and fair prices. But it certainly hasn’t saved us time. The co - up doesn’t carry everything. So we still wind up going to the supermarket too, for cleaning supplies, batteries, that sort of thing. I wish the co - up solved those items. ]' ye been talking about it with some of the other members.
A: What do members have to do.'? Just to pay a membership fee?
B: Yeah. There is a fee, and there are meetings. But attend ance isn’t required. But we do have to work there for an hour every week, which isn’t too bad. Once you are there, you can get your shopping done.
A: I wouldn’t mind working there some time. You get to learn about the products. But is the food free of additives? That will be the main reason I join. I' m a convert from junk food. Until now my diets have been largely chemical additives and pesticides. B: Well, a lot of food is pure and pesticides - free. They also have ultamine supplements and soy and Toufu and that kind of thing, lots of health food in shop there. So if source health oriented, the co- up is.
A: I’d like to try it just for a month or so. Then if you like it, you can join for a longer periods. And it becomes cheaper. A six month membership costs as much as 5 individual months.
B: Sounds pretty easy. Maybe the next time I run into you a gain, it will be in the checkout line in the co -up.
What are the speakers mainly discussing?
A.Memberships in a food coup.
B.The benefits of health food.
C.Shopping in the supermarket.
D.The current cost of food.

M: Hi, Jan. I'm planning to go to London by train. Do you want to come with me?
W: But it'd be cheaper by bus.
M: I’ve got a student travel card. You can get cheap train tickets with it.
W: That sounds good. How much does it cost?
M: A card for six months is sixteen pounds.
W: So how do I get one?
M: You need two photographs — one for the card and one for the form.
W: There's a photo machine in the post office. It gives you four photos for three pounds.
M: So does the one in the library. But I went to a photographer's studio. It was cheaper.
W: I don't have to show my passport or my driving license, do I ?
M: No, Jan, you only need a letter from your college.
W: OK, H1 ask my teacher for one.
M: And then you take everything to the tourist office and ask the travel agent.

听力原文:W: David, can I give you a hand with one of those grocery bags?
M: Sure, Nancy. Could you take this one, please? I didn't realize how heavy these bags would be.
W: Why did you buy so much stuff when you had to walk back home from the store?
M: Well, I didn't intend to buy a lot. But I'm having some people over and I guess I needed more than I expected.
W: What's the occasion?
M: The people I live with, the Smiths, have been on vacation for a month, and I thought I'd surprise them. I'm inviting some of their friends and family for a welcome-home dinner.
W: Oh, that's really thoughtful of you.
M: I figure it's the least I can do for them. They've been letting me stay with them rent-free when I'm at school.
W: Really? That's pretty generous of them.
M: Well, they understand how difficult it is to make ends meet when you're a student. They've been such a big help to me. I thought that this might be a small way to thank them for the generosity.
