Assignment 6 - Outlier mining You are required to use outlier mining methods to detect the outliers with given data sets. In a section of a city road, several cameras are set to collect the plate of vehicles from 2017-06-09 to 2017-06-12, as well as the date and time when passing the start point and the finish point. Travel time is calculated later. Time serial is another form of transformation from start time. So each instance contains 8 attributes, including serial number, license plate number, date and time passing start/end point, time serial and travel time. There are totally 4977 instances. You need to finish the following tasks. Task: (1) Use statistic-based approach to detect the outliers of travel time. Calculate the mean value and the variance of travel time. Write out the confidence interval. Take time serial as X-axis and the travel time as Y-axis. Plot the scatter diagram and mark the outliers you have recognized. (2) Use distance-based approach to detect the outliers of travel time. An object o in data set D is defined as an outlier with parameters r and π described as DB(r,π), if a fraction of the objects in D lie at a distance less than r from o is less than π, o is an outlier. Let parameter r vary from 0.1 to 0.3 with the step of 0.1, and π vary from 30 to 90 with the step of 30, find the outliers and the number of the outliers. You can use the Euclidian distance. (3) Use density-based approach to detect the outliers of travel time. With different k (from 3 to 400 with the step of 5), the number of neighbors, calculate the LOF for each data point. Set 2.0 as a threshold for LOF and an object is labeled as an outlier if its LOF exceeds 2.0. Firstly, take k value as X-axis and the number of outliers as Y-axis. Plot the line chart. Secondly, calculate the LOF for each data point and give the top 4 outliers. Use k=350 and the Euclidian distance.
When composing a scientific abstract, you should be very careful about language use and style, including the correct use of words, tenses, sentence patterns, terminologies and other aspects. Read the following sentences from abstracts, identify any incorrect use of language and make suitable revisions. 1) This paper discusses/examines three issues. The first issue is X. The second and third issues are Y and Z. 2) Introduced status for optical fiber communication at first. Then described some enabling technologies of dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM). 3) I examined the use of deep neural networks (DNNs) in the context of photo editing. 4) According to Author et al. (2010), there is a significant relationship between X and Y. 5) This motivated us to explore the use of DNNs in the context of photo editing. 6) Clocks with carefully controlled phases tapped from a local ring oscillator are driven to a bank of input samplers to convert the serial bit stream into parallel data and the overlap of multiple-phased clocks is used to synchronize the multiplexing of the parallel data onto the transmission line. 7) Due to global initialized data, immediate values, address calculations, redundancy in external input, etc.; the same value is used at the same program point as much as 80% of the time. Please identify the possible problems in the sentences above, and then try to offer revisions for each of them.
SECTION B PASSAGES
Directions: In this section, you will hear several passages. Listen to the passages carefully and then answer the questions that follow.
听力原文: Hello, everybody. Thank you very much for inviting me here. It's very pleasant to have a chance to talk to you about something that is obviously very much on everybody's minds. I want to talk about an area of security or safety — bicycles.
I know a 10t of you have bikes. First, when you get your bike whether it's new or second-hand, bring it as soon as possible to us. There, we will be able to stamp it with a serial number. We actually stamp it into the metal. We'll register the number, put it on our list. This can frighten criminals away if they realize that there is a number stamped on it. Second, make sure you buy a good lock. It can be expensive, but it is never a waste of money. If you have an expensive bike, it's worth buying two locks. Do spend money on a good lock, because the cheap ones can be very very easy to cut. Also, make sure you lock the bike to something permanent though to be considerate to the pedestrians. And if the worst happens, you lose your bike. You should immediately report to the police station according to the serial number that should have been stamped.
According to the talk, the owner of a bike has to ______.
A.register his bike immediately
B.put his bike on a list at one
C.have it stamped with a number
D.report to the police station
