听力原文: Hello, I'll be your tour guide today here at the art museum so I'd like to welcome you m this month's exhibit on native American pottery. We'll begin our tour in a few minutes. But first I'm going to tell you something about the way this pottery was created. Pottery was made all over ancient North America by many different groups of people. One of the earliest of these ancient American cultures was the Hohokam people. They lived in what is now Arizona from about 300 BC to 1500 AD. And it's their pottery that you will be looking at today. All of the pottery was made from clay. Some objects were for everyday use, like con miners for food and water: pots for cooking, and mugs, bowls and ladles for drinking and eating. You will also sec finger rings and animalshaped incense burners, which we believe were probably used in special rituals. The Hohokam formed their pottery vessels from coils of clay. They then shaped them with special tools to create very thin sides on the vessels. Afterwards they painted the pottery with red designs. Actually many of the pieces here have designs right on them that show how the pottery was used. Now I hope you'll enjoy the beauty and the uniqueness of the Hohokam pottery and this will give you some interesting insight about the people who created it. Please feel free to ask me any questions and thank you for joining us today.

It's interesting that technology often works as a servant for us, yet frequently we become
a servant to it. E-mail is a useful tool but many feel controlled by this new vehicle. The average businessperson is getting about 80 e-mails per day and many feel that about 80% of the messages in their "In Box" are of little or no value.

So, I have four suggestions to help you to become better at "Easing E-mail"

1. Get off the lists. The best way to deal with a problem is to never have it. If you are receiving a lot of unwanted e-mails, ask to be removed from the various lists. This would include your inclusion in unwanted "cc" lists (抄送名单).

2. "Unlisted address". Just like getting an "unlisted" telephone number that you share only with those whom you want to give direct access, you might want to get a separate e-mail address only for the important communications you wish to receive.

3. Check it once or twice per day. Many I speak with are becoming chained to their email server, monitoring incoming email on a continuous basis. Maybe this is because e-mail creates its own sense of urgency, but most of the communications are not all that urgent. I respond to them a couple of times per day.

4. Deal with it. As you open each e-mail do one of the following:

a. If it requires a quick response, respond to it and delete it.

b. If it is going to take any serious amount of time to respond, schedule it for action in your Day Planner and then download the message, save it, or print it out for future action.

I personally receive approximately 250 e-mails per day and by practicing the suggestions above, I can handle that volume in about an hour, taking advantage of this fantastic tool but not being con trolled by it to the distraction (分心) of more important tasks in my day.

The passage is about ______.

A.how to check e-mails

B.how to collect e-mails

C.how to deal with your daily e-mails

D.how to deal with 80% valueless e-mails

We unemployed share a social stigma (耻辱) similar to that of the rape victim. Whether consciously or subconsciously, much of the work-ethic driven public feels that you've somehow "asked for it". Secretly wanted to lose your job and "flirted (幻想)" with unemployment through your attitude- probably dressed in a way to invite it (left the vest unbuttoned on your three-piece suit).

But the worse of it isn't society's work-ethic morality; it's your own, which you never knew you had. You find out how much self-satisfaction was gained from even the most simple work-related task: a well-worded letter, a well-handled phone call, even a clean file. Being useful to yourself isn't enough.

But then almost everyone has heard about the need to be a useful member of society. What you didn't know about was the loneliness. You've spent your life almost constantly surrounded by people, in classes, in dorms and at work. To suddenly find yourself with only your cat to talk to all day distorts (歪曲) your sense of reality. You begin to worry that fights of fancy might become one way.

But you always were, and still are, stronger than that. You maintain balance and perspective, mainly through resorting frequently to sarcasm (嘲笑) and irreverence. Although something going wrong in any aspect of your life now seems to push you into temporary despair much more easily than before, you have some very important things to hang on to-- people who care, your sense of humor, your talents, your cat and your hopes.

And beyond that, you've gained something- a little more knowledge and a lot more compassion. You've learned the value of the routine you scorned and the importance of the job you took for granted. But most of all, you've learned what a "7.6 percent unemployment rate" really means.

What is the proper title for this passage?

A.How the Unemployed Are Looked Down Upon

B.How Important to Be Employed

C.How It Feels to Be Out of Work

D.How to Gain a Little More Knowledge and Compassion
