C.He forgot about the English Evening.
D.His supervisor wanted to talk to him.
I’m a graduate student in the US, and to make enough money to pay for my rent and food, I have to work as a guard at the university library at night. Last week one of my friends, Lin, came to the library after hours. He told me he had left his notebook in the library and needed it to study for a test the next day. I told Lin that according to the rules I was’t supposed to let anyone in, but he begged me and said that if he didn’t get his notes there was no way he could pass the test. He was my good friend and I knew he wouldn’t steal anything. I also didn’t feel like I could say no, so I let him in. Unfortunately, just then my supervisor came by and saw Lin going in, so he stopped Lin and then started bawling me out in front of Lin for not following the rules. I tried to explain the situation, but that only seemed to make my supervisor more angry. He said it didn’t matter if Lin was my friend or not, so I just shut up and let him scold me. I realize I broke a rule, but I know Lin and trust him, and letting him in wasn’t the same thing as letting in a stranger, I think my supervisor was very unreasonable to be so picky and critical, and I don’t think he should have yelled at me, especially in front of Lin. Why could’t he understand why I let Lin in?
M Yes. They said that it will arrive tomorrow afternoon.
W I'm afraid that'll be too late. I'm meeting with our client at 10 o'clock tomorrow to discuss products that she might be interested in carrying in her store. Could you call shipping again and ask them if they can get it any sooner?
M Sure, I'll call them right away. I'll talk to a supervisor to make sure they send it as fast as possible.
What is the woman's problem?
A.She didn't make an arrangement for delivery.
B.She didn't receive her package.
C.She will be late for the meeting.
D.She can't contact the supervisor.
听力原文:M: Tom Haley speaking.
W: Hello, Tom. It's Mary. I waited for a phone call from you but I can't wait any longer. Tell me about your first week.
M: Hmm. It wasn't easy.
W: Wasn't it? Why? What did you have to do?
M: On Monday and Tuesday, I lifted heavy boxes. On Wednesday, I put hundreds of bottles and tins and packets on shelves.
W: So do you think it was boring?
M: Yes, very boring. And I dropped a lot of boxes.
W: Did you break anything?
M: Oh, just a few jars of jam and a lot of bottles of tomato juice.
W: Ugh. What a mess. So tell me about Thursday.
M: I'm afraid I was two hours late.., and the supervisor was really angry. Then I put price labels on bottles and tins and packets. I feel very, very confused..
W: Did you put the right labels on them?
M: Not always. I made one or two mistakes.
W: Only one or two? What did you do on Friday and Saturday?
M: I didn't do very much. I was fed up. The supermarket was open until 9 pm. They wanted me to work overtime but I went home at six.
W: I see. Have you still got a job or dick around?
M: I don't know. I have to see the supervisor tomorrow.
W: Well, you'd better get up early. Good luck with you!

M Oh hi, Mandy. I just wanted to ask how the training day went. I'm sorry I couldn't be there.
F Hi, Jim. Yes, we missed you. Well, it was good overall. There was a rather familiar presentation of theory, and then some very informative' case studies to discuss. We also spent time reviewing important staffing issues, and there were some tips given on teamwork that we can definitely put into practice.
M Sounds excellent.
F Yes, although the afternoon session seemed to go on and on. I found it hard to concentrate, but when I looked at the handout afterwards for the main points, it was very brief, and didn't say much. Anyway, there's another one next month. I've suggested the training manager consults with the HR supervisor in setting it up, to make sure it's all relevant. I hope you'll be able to make it.
M Yes, I'll be free for that one.

听力原文:M: Do you know what happened to me today? I was so embarrassed.
W: What?
M: Well, I had to stay up late last night because 1 had to finish the homework Professor Brown had assigned to us. I got up late this morning. When I opened my eyes, it was 7,45.
W: Oh, it's terrible, the class begins in 15 minutes!
M: Yes, so I put on my clothes and rushed out my dormitory. I had no time to have my breakfast in the dinning hall, so I ran into a store, grabbed a piece of bread and left there as quickly as possible, when I got to the classroom, it's about to get started.
W: Well, is there any thing wrong?
M: Absolutely, when I just left the store, I noticed that somebody followed out, but I was in such a hurry that I didn't stop. When the class was over and I was about to leave, my supervisor, Mr. Black, showed up with a middle-aged man. Mr. Black said the man told him that I had stolen some bread in his store, he traced me out by the book I left in the store with my name on it.

W: Yeah, It really embarrassing.

A 16-year-old South Dakota boy who became lost while hunting and spent 16 hours alone in the Black Hills National Forest says he was scared but still managed to make a survival plan. Austin DuVall, of Rapid City, became lost on Nov.3 while hunting with his father. He ran after a deer, and soon found himself alone. “I ran after a deer, but I didn’t get it,” he said. “Then I was really lost.” He had only his hunting rifle(步枪) and the clothes he was wearing. He had no food or water and had nothing that could help him find his way to safety. “I knew that no one could hear me. I decided to just sleep and get up in the morning and find safety,” he said. Austin climbed up on a rock and slept through the night. Then he awoke and relied on skills he learned in a hunter safety course. He followed a stream to an occupied cabin. The couple there called his parents and cooked him a breakfast. “ It’s probably one meal I’ll never forget for the rest of my life,” he said. After DuVall’s disappearance, a lot of emergency officials and more than 100 volunteers went searching for him. “He wasn’t sitting there waiting for someone to come and find him,” said his father, Steve DuVall. “We didn’t find him; he found himself.” Mike Kintigh, regional supervisor for the Game, Fish & Parks Department, said one or two hunters will go missing each year, but rarely for more than 24 hours. “We’re a little bit unique in the Black Hills as it’s hard to get lost for a very long time. That’s because we’ve got so many roads here compared to the Rocky Mountains,” Kintigh said. “You can certainly spend a very uncomfortable night in the woods like Austin did.” 小题1:After Austin realized he lost his way, he ___.
