The managers at Beta Corp. decided to redesign their marketing strategies to position the game as something that people of all ages would enjoy. The company's decision to modify its product positioning demonstrates:
A、downsizing strategy.
B、emergent strategy.

To begin with, "Muzak"(音乐广播网) was intended simply to create a soothing(起镇静作用 ) atmosphere. Recently, however, it's become big business—because in part of recent research. Dr. Ronald Milliman, an American marketing expert, has shown that music can promote sales or increase factory production by as much as a third.
But, it has to be light music. A fast one has no effect at all on sales. Slow music can increase receipts by 38%. This is probably because shoppers slow down and have more opportunity to search for goods they like to buy. Yet, slow music isn't always the answer. Dr. Milliman found, for example, that in restaurants slow music meant customers took longer to eat their meals, which reduced overall sales. So restaurant owners might be well advised to play up tempo music to keep the customers moving—unless, of course, the resulting indigestion(消化不良) leads to complaints!
According to the passage, background music is so widespread because it can ______.
A.help to create a soothing atmosphere
B.decrease production in factories
C.promote sales in all places
D.help to have more meals
However, not all is doom and gloom. Mature vehicle markets may be close to saturation (饱和), but there is huge unsatisfied demand in the big emerging car markets of Brazil, Russia, India and China (the so-called BRICs). Although not immune from the rich countries' troubles, they are likely to suffer much less. For one thing, levels of personal debt are far lower and a smaller proportion of cars are bought on credit. For another, the BRIC economies have been expanding so fast that even a slowdown should still leave them with growth rates that look respectable to Western eyes.
One measure of the BRIC countries' new importance to the car industry is that, recession or not, global car sales in 2008 may still hit an all-time record of about 59 million. For the first time passenger-vehicle sales in the BRICs, at around 14 million, are likely to overtake those in America, which are expected to be the worst since 1992. As recently as 2005 America outsold them by over 10 million. By the end of this decade China, already the world's second-biggest market, will probably overtake America's sales of 16 million-17 million in a "normal" year. In Brazil sales have increased by nearly 30% in each of the past two years.
It is the irresistible combination of rapid economic growth, favorable demographics (人口特征) and social change in the BRICs that is coming to the carmakers' rescue and that is likely to account for nearly all their growth for the foreseeable future. America has more than 900 cars (including light trucks) for every 1,000 people of driving age.
When times are hard, an American family that already has two or three cars will simply postpone buying a new one. But a potential customer in an emerging market who has been saving for years to buy his first car will still want to go ahead. As Carlos Ghosn, the boss of the Renault-Nissan alliance, put it at this year's Beijing motor show: "Nothing can stop the car being the most coveted product that comes with development."
What can we learn about the situations in traditional market from the first paragraph?
A.It is hard for carmakers for the hiking oil price.
B.General Motors, Ford and Chrysler are all in a dilemma.
C.Traditional markets in America began to be inactive this year.
D.Sales this year will get to the lowest in America.
Food for Thought (Scenario) Burgess owned a ToutLeMart, a store that sold food and nonfood items in a warehouse environment. He employed 350 people and had them work in very specialized areas. Some people only unloaded the pallets from the trucks or drove the pallets onto the floor, while still others unloaded the pallets in their specific area of responsibility. He had managers controlling each specific area. For example, the automotive manager was in charge of all functions; accounting, purchasing, sales, etc. This arrangement had generally worked well, but recently, he noticed that employees seemed bored and turnover and absenteeism had risen. In addition, he found that attempting to get special projects completed, such as creating their new "First-Class Customer" card, had turned into a nightmare due to the lack of cooperation and misunderstanding between the groups. ToutLeMart currently operates under the classical view of the division of labor. This is characterized by which of the following?
A、You only report to one manager
B、Employees specialize in doing part of a task
C、Employees specialize in doing one complete task
D、People are divided according to their work interest.
A、Dr Purchases $500, Dr Sales tax $75, Cr Payables $575
B、Dr Purchases $575, Cr Sales tax $75, Cr Payables $500
C、Dr Purchases $500, Cr Payables $500
D、Dr Purchases $575, Cr Payables $575
Oscar Co designs and produces tracking devices. The company is managed by its four founders, who lack business administration skills. The company has revenue of $28m, and all sales are on 30 days’ credit. Its major customers are large multinational car manufacturing companies and are often late in paying their invoices. Oscar Co is a rapidly growing company and revenue has doubled in the last four years. Oscar Co has focused in this time on product development and customer service, and managing trade receivables has been neglected. Oscar Co’s average trade receivables are currently $5.37m, and bad debts are 2% of credit sales revenue. Partly as a result of poor credit control, the company has suffered a shortage of cash and has recently reached its overdraft limit. The four founders have spent large amounts of time chasing customers for payment. In an attempt to improve trade receivables management, Oscar Co has approached a factoring company. The factoring company has offered two possible options: Option 1 Administration by the factor of Oscar Co’s invoicing, sales accounting and receivables collection, on a full recourse basis. The factor would charge a service fee of 0·5% of credit sales revenue per year. Oscar Co estimates that this would result in savings of $30,000 per year in administration costs. Under this arrangement, the average trade receivables collection period would be 30 days. Option 2 Administration by the factor of Oscar Co’s invoicing, sales accounting and receivables collection on a non-recourse basis. The factor would charge a service fee of 1·5% of credit sales revenue per year. Administration cost savings and average trade receivables collection period would be as Option 1. Oscar Co would be required to accept an advance of 80% of credit sales when invoices are raised at an interest rate of 9% per year. Oscar Co pays interest on its overdraft at a rate of 7% per year and the company operates for 365 days per year. (a) Calculate the costs and benefits of each of Option 1 and Option 2 and comment on your findings. (b) Discuss reasons (other than costs and benefits already calculated) why Oscar Co may benefit from the services offered by the factoring company.
