Subject: Hi Sherry!
Guilt'? Guilt is my middle name. I feel guilty for not being more than I am, for letting opportunities pass me by, for not having enough energy to do everything, for spending so much time on the web! I feel guilty for not being best at everything, because merely being good at some things is not good enough. I feel guilty for having a bit of an edge on my personality even though I do like my personality. I feel guilty about having a daughter who refuses to wear dresses or pink pony tail holders.
I feel guilty about producing boys who aren't great at sports, who are thin and wiry and freckled and spectacled. I feel guilty about aluminum cans and eating meat and using cleaning chemicals and having three children and driving a car — ecoguilt. But not guilty enough to change my had habits. I feel guilty for liking myself even though I'm convinced I've failed completely at being perfect. And now I feel guilty about writing so much!
Candice

SECTION A CONVERSATIONS
Directions: In this section you will hear several conversations. Listen to the conversations carefully and then answer the questions that follow.
听力原文:M: I think a drought has set in. It hasn't rained a drop for months.
W: I think so, too, dear, but didn't it rain last month?
M: It did rain last month, but the rainfall was only half the monthly average. I am afraid that we hadn't enough for our crops and cattle.
W. Oh. That bad? !
M: That's right. It's really bad. I'm really concerned though not panicked yet.
W: I don't blame you. The pastures have browned out even before the summer hasn't arrived.
M: Yeah, and the soil has been baked so hard that the plow can't even break the soil.
W: Looks like it's going to be an ongoing thing that would get worse each day.
M: Yeah, if it doesn't rain, it's going to get critical.
What is the possible relationship between the speakers?
A.Two passengers.
B.Two neighbours.
C.Two farmers.
D.A couple.
听力原文: As you know we've been working with the Maclachlan Group, who has been providing interpersonal-skills seminars to our staff. A lot of these seminars are very important for our staff because they deal with matters that are important everyday, such as conflict resolution, and time efficiency. But even though these seminars provided free of charge, I am hearing a lot of reports that say employees aren't attending these seminars because they just don't see any benefit to them. But of course, as managers we know that it may take time to see the advantages that extra training can provide. I think that these seminars are beneficial and that we should make every effort to encourage our staff to attend these seminars. The way to do that is to make these seminars more appealing. Therefore I propose we start holding these seminars at weekend resorts so that employees will be more interested in going.
Who is the speaker most likely talking to?
A.New employees
B.Loyal customers
C.Business owners
